Chris Perry is a Canadian mixing engineer, producer and Dolby Atmos mixer with more than two decades of experience making records.
His background in alternative music goes back to the early 1990s as guitarist, programmer and producer with Canadian shoegaze and dream-pop band An April March. The band released a series of albums and EPs through the decade, and its music has since appeared on retrospective shoegaze and dream-pop collections including Still in a Dream: A Story of Shoegaze 1988–1995 and Cherry Stars Collide: Dream Pop, Shoegaze & Ethereal Rock 1986–1995.
Perry subsequently built a career as a producer, engineer and mixer working across independent and major-label releases. His credits span alternative, indie, rock, pop and R&B and include work with artists such as Softcult, Elita, Rolling Quartz, BANNERS, Wanting Qu, Nelly Furtado, Shawn Desman and others.
Today his work is increasingly centred on alternative, indie, shoegaze and other guitar-driven music. He mixes in both stereo and Dolby Atmos, including full ground-up Atmos mixes as well as stem-based Atmos mixes for labels and catalog projects.
Recent work includes stereo and Atmos mixing for Softcult, mixing for Korean rock band Rolling Quartz, and projects with artists from Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. He works remotely with artists, producers and labels worldwide.
